ASTROLOGICAL TYPOLOGY AND RELATIONSHIPS
Jung‘s typology as well as the much more differentiated depth psychological-astrological approach can help to understand how people relate to each other.
This evening I want to focus on Astrology as the older sister of Psychology (compare Jung, letters II, p. 402) which provides a lot of insights into the structure of a personality.
Nobody can live outside of relationships, we are both, individuals and social beings. The younger the human being is the more he depends in his wellbeing on others. So for newborns, the mothering and caring environment is absolutely necessary for survival. Nevertheless relationships are important in all development-stages.
Thus also in relationships between adults the question “who am I?” as well as “who are you?” arise, these questions are crucial in relationships and will find answers in looking at the birth charts which give insights into the archetypal structure as well as the complex-structure of both of the partners. The better we know ourselves the easier we can relate to others. Understanding our birth charts will help to improve our relationships since each relationship is built by two individuals, and of course a relationship is only as good and rewarding as the two partner’s contribution is.
Marianne Meister-Notter, Dr. Phil. is a Swiss psychotherapist working with adults, children and adolescents in her own private practice in Zürich (CH). She is a former Vice President of the Curatorium, as well as the Head of the “Further Training & Vocational Policy” committee, and is a lecturer, training analyst and supervisor at the C.G. Jung Institute Zürich, in Küsnacht, Switzerland. She is the president of the Ethics Commission of the Association of Swiss Psychotherapists (ASP). Her most recent publication (2015) is titled The Key to Self: Recognition of Self Through Depth-Psychology-Oriented Astrology.
