A film by Françoise Selhofer. Marie-Louise von Franz gives an insight into her life, her meeting and collaboration with C. G. Jung, her understanding of his psychology, the creation of her work and her working method. She also answers questions on dream interpretation, creativity, synchronicity, alchemy and the nagging problems of our time.

Marie-Louise von Franz (1915-1998) received her doctorate in classical philology from the University of Zurich. From 1934, she worked closely with C. G. Jung, mainly on his studies of alchemy, until his death in 1961. She completed her late work, Mysterium Coniunctionis, with an interpretation of Aurora Consurgens, an alchemical-Christian text attributed to St. Thomas Aquinas. For many years, she was a lecturer and didactic analyst at the C. G. Jung Institute in Küsnacht, ZH. In 1974, together with friends in Küsnacht, she founded the Foundation for C. G. Jung’s Psychology (Stiftung für Jung’sche Psychologie). She was also appointed Honorary President of the Research and Training Centre for C. G. Jung’s Depth Psychology. G.
