This work reports and systematizes the process of spontaneous creation of a new clinician developed in my office. Aware of what my psyche and that of my patients requested, I listened and welcomed the images that emerged from the encounter of our subjectivities, providing tools for them to find other forms of expression, in addition to verbal language. The work consists of a small sandbox and simple materials such as stones, shells, sticks, marbles and rakes. The material, which is accessible to the patient so that he can play with him during the session, accompanies and complements the verbal analysis without changing the analytical setting. Images appear in the sand that provoke and reveal images of the encounter itself. Such images with their living symbolic strength reveal the transcendent function of the analytical encounter. The use of work in the sand and often only its presence in the setting, lead through play, regression and constellated unconscious content, the analytical attention to the images of the subtle body that emerge in the third zone or intermediate space. Through working in the sand, I found a rich and unique way of perceiving and dealing with transference and countertransference, within a Jungian reading.
