The Facts In The Recesses Of Feeling: An Exploration Of The Roots And Emergence Of Analytical Psychology Part 2

This is the second of a two-part seminar series to introduce the historical and philosophical foundations of analytical psychology as a way of providing a fuller contextual understanding of key concepts, texts and clinical practices, and the critical framework through which they emerged. During these seminars we will be tracing the roots of analytical psychology in pre-history and classical thought and we will look at the emergence of analytical psychology as a synthesis between scientific materialism and the romantic movement at the end of the 18th century. We will be exploring the idea of the unconscious in literature, philosophy and history and the different philosophical traditions underpinning Jung’s thinking.
