Observing Psychic Phenomena As They Present Themselves to Us: Bridging The Gap Between Academic Research And Jungian Analysis

During this seminar, we will explore qualitative research methods with a focus on Interpretative Phenomenological Analysis (IPA), a phenomenological approach seeking to understand people’s ‘lived experience’. The presenter will guide you through step-by-step practices to data analysis whilst bridging the gap between the study of the psyche from an academic standpoint (Psychology) and from that of Analytical Psychology. Emphasis will be placed in approaching the text as a manifestation of a psychic phenomena and in the attempt to remain as close as possible to its nature. It is hoped that throughout the seminar, participants will not only gain an understanding of IPA practices but also grow in their ability to look at psychic material (whether a dream or an image) by staying as close as possible to its nature.
