Winter Dream Conference 2022 – Dreams and Seasons of a Life: Rhythms of the Soul

While we are familiar with the passage from Ecclesiastes reminding us “There is a time for everything and a season for everything under the sun”, we may take this spiritual wisdom for granted.

However, it was the brilliance of Jung and the early Jungians who taught us that the Psyche orients our life according to an inner and eternal sense of timing. It is the Self, speaking through the dream images which informs us about these universal rhythms. Here we learn if the ascent or descent down the mountain is generative and meaningful to our stage of life. So too we learn if that energy building within our Psyche is ready to be expressed in the outer world or needs to continue incubating within the temenos.

These issues may be symbolically expressed as trees blooming out of season or animals hatching at a perilous time, or that we have indeed meaningfully entered the season of life that allows for the emergence of our soul and spirit into the world. We cannot speak of time without referring to the archetypal sense of Cronus, and realize that indeed there is a time, and season for every aspect of our life.

During this weekend seminar, we will look at the symbolic expression of these natural rhythms within the soul, and how dreams inform us about our relationship to Cronus – to the time of the soul.
