The Italian Association of Analytical Psychology (AIPA) presents “La Psicologia Analitica in dialogo con l’arte” (Analytical Psychology in Dialogue with Art), a three-day series of experiential workshops exploring creative processes from April 17-19, 2026, at the Fondazione Morra Greco in Naples. This event invites participants to discover how art-making serves as a tool for psychological understanding and communicative exchange, drawing on Jung’s conviction that creative instinct belongs not exclusively to artists but to every human being.
In his 1928 work The Ego and the Unconscious, Jung identified how mechanised modern life suppresses creative needs, potentially causing psychological harm. He advocated awakening the unconscious artist in each person and honoring the need for artistic expression. The workshop series embodies Jung’s view of creativity as a vital psychological force that belongs to everyone, not just professional artists.
Friday, April 17: Myth, Sound, and Chaos
The opening day features diverse workshops exploring embodied and imaginative approaches to the psyche. “Le Mura illuminate: segregazione, follia, libertà” (The Illuminated Walls: Segregation, Madness, Freedom) led by Anna Marchitelli and Ettore Nigro examines themes of confinement and liberation. “Ὀρφεῖον: Il corpo mediatore sonoro del Ritmo Vitale” (Orpheon: The Body as Sound Mediator of Vital Rhythm) with Andrea Cuomo, Mosé Galdi, and Tecla Marino explores rhythm as psychological expression.
Maurizio Capone’s “Come suona il caos” (How Chaos Sounds) investigates disorder through sound, while the afternoon sessions include “Demetra e Persefone,” where participants experience myth through improvisational theater led by Dario Aquilina and Assunta Volpicelli. Franco Castellana presents “Il collasso dell’onda nel campo analitico del Gioco della Sabbia” (The Collapse of the Wave in the Analytical Field of Sandplay), and Susanna Beltrami explores “Poetica dello spazio” (Poetics of Space).
Saturday, April 18: Fairy Tales, Active Imagination, and AI
Saturday opens with “Nel Cuore della Fiaba” (In the Heart of the Fairy Tale) led by Dora Romano, exploring symbols and transformations of the unconscious through fairy tale work. Sir Philip Waghorne guides “Sognare da svegli” (Dreaming While Awake), a workshop on active imagination and deep active writing.
A particularly timely session addresses “L’intelligenza artificiale” (Artificial Intelligence), led by Piergiovanni Allegrini and philosopher Roberto Finelli, examining AI through psychological and philosophical lenses. The afternoon features a distinguished roundtable including Sylvain Bellenger, Director of EDI Global Forum and former director of the Capodimonte Museum, Roberto Finelli discussing philosophy, Angela Savino from the Experimental Neuroaesthetics Laboratory at Rome’s Tor Vergata University, and AIPA representatives.
Later sessions explore “Il noir come esplorazione dell’Ombra” (Noir as Exploration of the Shadow) with Luca Mercadante, “Scrivere il sogno” (Writing the Dream), a workshop on dream narration led by Marilena Lucente, and “Disegnare paesaggi interiori” (Drawing Interior Landscapes) with Andrea Bolognino examining space, psychic states, and imagination.
Sunday, April 19: Dreams, Digital Media, and Dance
The final day includes Angelo Malinconico’s “Il sogno giocato/risognato in gruppo” (The Dream Played/Re-dreamed in Groups), Marco Rossano’s exploration of “Tecniche visive e digitali” (Visual and Digital Techniques) examining images, video, and new languages, and “Danzare il mito” (Dancing the Myth) led by Riccardo Sozzino, a journey through dance, archetypes, and Afro-Cuban rituals.
Each workshop combines bodily, imaginative, and artistic stimuli to demonstrate how collaborative art-making becomes a playful, free, and creative tool for knowledge and communication. Led by art experts and Jungian analysts, the sessions cultivate creative instinct as a fundamental human capacity for discovering and understanding existence.
