Becoming a Jungian Analyst: Reflections on Practice, Training and Research opens this weekend on the 26th of June in Copenhagen. Dedicated to exploring the journey of becoming an analyst from the interweaving of theoretical training, clinical practice, research, and the ongoing relationship with the unconscious, it takes place at Hotel Scandic Copenhagen and is convened by Pilar Amezaga, Gražina Gudaitė, and Misser Berg.
The program is substantial. Friday opens with reflections on the core principles of the analytical attitude, before moving into sessions on symbols and the unconscious, and the role of culture in analytical work. Saturday addresses the therapeutic relationship in trauma work, the place of active imagination in training, supervision, and the role of evaluation in the analytic process. It closes with a flourishing musical evening featuring three analysts who are also trained musicians. Sunday turns to research, with sessions on integrating research into Jungian training and what makes a good training program. Each morning begins with a Social Dreaming Matrix convened by Ali Zarbafi and Barbara March of the SAP.
The speaker lineup draws from across the global Jungian community. Among them Jan Wiener, Monica Luci, Toshio Kawai, Heyong Shen, Luisa Zoppi, Chiara Tozzi, and Robin Zeiger. A welcome reception at Copenhagen City Hall and a Saturday dinner in the restaurant at Tivoli add a fittingly celebratory dimension to what is, at its heart, a gathering about vocation and commitment.
