The C.G. Jung Foundation for Analytical Psychology has announced its Spring 2026 Continuing Education series, offering a diverse array of five-week online courses designed for both mental health professionals and the general public. These programs provide a deeper look into the practical and theoretical applications of analytical psychology, ranging from the technical mechanics of dream work to the symbolic exploration of aging and childhood.
The curriculum begins in late February with Jungian Dream Interpretation, led by Dr. Maxson J. McDowell. This highly interactive course focuses on deciphering the universal, imagistic language of dreams to identify the next steps in an individual’s personality development. Simultaneously, David Rottman’s course, What is the Nature of Individual Psychological Change?, challenges students to move beyond behavioral modification and instead view transformation as a direct encounter between consciousness and the psyche’s living images. By exploring Jung’s belief that each patient requires their own language, this course highlights the unique, non-linear path of Jungian healing.
As the season progresses into April, the focus shifts toward specific life stages and research methodologies. Mary Apikos presents Moving the Needle: Continuing Studies in Midlife and Elder Tales, an innovative course that examines the often-overlooked psychological tasks of aging through Lithuanian folklore and Greek mythology. This course also introduces students to Jungian Arts-Based Research (JABR), providing creatives with a non-hierarchical way to examine subjectivity through the transcendent function. For those interested in developmental roots, Helaine Ciporen’s The Inner World of Childhood explores how early symbolic expressions in play and fantasy form the foundation of adult life, offering insights into healing the “wounded inner child” through the work of Jung and Marie-Louise von Franz.
